I have worked and I work in various fields of geomorphology, engineering geology, geology and information science, including:
identification and mapping of landslides in different climatic, geological and morphological environments,
analysis of types and spatial distribution of landslides in relation to geological and structural settings,
methods for the definition of landslide susceptibility and hazard,
temporal forecasting of landslides, using historical information and multi-temporal inventory data,
frequency distributions of the size (e.g., area, volume) of landslides,
acquisition and use of historical information on landslides and floods for the assessment of the geo-hydrological hazards and risk,
vulnerability to landslides of different elements at risk , including the population,
definition and mapping of landslide risk, including societal and individual landslide and flood risk,
definition of rainfall and hydrological thresholds for the possible triggering of landslides,
landslide forecasting and early warning systems
landslides and climate,
general morphometry,
application of GIS and Web-GIS technologies for the analysis and publication of geomorphological information,
dissemination of information on hazard, vulnerability and geo-hydrological risk, and
geo-ethics, natural hazards, and risk.
